This year was a year of growth for me. I was so happy to finally see the light that is the end to PPD. I also suffer from depression but PPD was another beast all in itself. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. However, I am a survivor and I am so proud of myself as well as my husband for all he has and continues to do for me and our family. This man never complained when he had to work 40+ hours a week to provide for us, get off work, clean the house, cook dinner and take care of our children because I was just not capable to do it

Now, When this was announced I heard right away that they are sell outs and they aren't here for the community that built them but honestly I feel like that is further from the truth. As a SheaBassador I had the privilege to get on a call with Mr. Dennis himself and ask him specific questions about this deal(something that all of the Sheabassadors had a privilege of doing.)

The last two years have been an emotional rollercoaster and with the help of Jehovah and each other we made it through to the other side. Happy and healthy I might add. My husband surprised me with a weekend getaway to Disney with the kids. We had a blast. Xander is now at the age where he is super excited and Kiera was happy looking at the parades and riding rides. So much fun.
Read MoreOctober is Pregnancy and Infant loss Awareness month. I myself am 1 in 4 who have lost a baby and it is the worst feeling ever. I have also dealt with Infertility because of my PCOS and it took me over 4 years to have my son. That is why I am so happy that people are speaking up about their own struggles. It helps when you realize you are not alone. Gabrielle Union has a book coming out and in her book she speaks about her struggles to have a child.
I have nursed collectively for 3 1/2 years. August is breastfeeding awareness month an I wanted to do something to celebrate the milestones I have achieved in nursing. I have been wanting to do a milk bath photo shoot F-O-R-E-V-E-R. I decided I was going to do one once I hit the 1 year milestone of nursing my youngest.
My son was so excited to help me set up the photo shoot :)
Read MoreA few weeks ago I saw a post shaming women who have 3a-3c curl patterns. I did agree with the statement that the natural hair movement seems to feature more women with that kind of texture. However, I will not sit here and downplay their blackness. I myself am a 4c curly and when I was starting my natural hair journey almost 6 years ago, I REALLY had to look for people with my hair type.4c is so versatile there is so much we can do with our hair and our fros are BOMB DOT COM!

It was on a video I had made of just a lazy Sunday with my family and us cooking a meal. In that video my husband and I talked about one of our favorite mini doughnut places and it just so happen that in that week we visited three times. We had guest over and friends of our wanted to go there. This comment said something to the fact that I shouldn’t eat the doughnuts and my husband is just worried about my size and I need to get healthy so I can have a long and happy life.

Read Morehose are fun to do but it's ok to look subtle very now and then as well. I am so thankful that I have friends who love makeup just as much as I do and have introduced me to nude lips and "everyday" makeup. I have fallen in love with mauves, browns and peaches. I may even do a video soon to showcase my favorite brown-girl friendly nudes.
