Wakanda Forever - OOTD
I had to see Black panther opening weekend. I wanted to be surrounded by everyone that was so excited to be apart of history. It earned 201.8 million from Fri - Sun and looks like it is estimated to bring in 255 million from Fri - Monday. If you haven't seen the movie yet I URGE you to go. The imagery, the character development, the technology. it's all so breathtakingly beautiful. I knew what I wanted to wear right away. There was no doubt in my mind that I was going to wear ANY other shirt except for my Respect, Protect, Love the Black woman from a company called Hgc apparel. My skirt I purchased 2 yrs ago from a company called Melange Mode. Her shop is currently closed. The print is an Angolan print and the name of it is Samakaka. It is such a bold print and so beautiful.
I was so inspired looking at the movie and all of the beautiful colors and prints in the garments that they wore.
When it came to my hair and makeup I decided to do BOLD as well. You can watch here on how I achieved my makeup look. My Hair I combined a few styles. I was inspired by the Fulani people and decided on my cornrows braided forward. I then did three Bantu Knots on the top and decorated the middle one with gold wire. I did a twist out on the back. If you are looking for inspiration for hairstyles to see the movie you can check that out here.
I think this movie has CHANGED THE GAME! I can't wait to see how they develop these characters even more in Avengers Infinity War. I am already thinking of my outfit to represent Wakanda.
