DateNight Ideas While Under Stay At Home Orders

Dating is interesting right now. I have to say that when I read this story earlier it tickled me and I love that these two thought outside the box. So many are at home and not going out because we are under stay at home orders, which means any nonessential travel should not happen. Does that mean you should stop dating your partner? ABSOLUTELY NOT. This time more than ever it’s important to keep the lines of communication open and you can do so with ease by dating one another. What are some ideas you can do if you are celebrating an anniversary, don’t live with one another or have children. Well, fear not because I have you covered. Here are some date night ideas.

For Those Who Don’t Live Together.

Zoom, Skype, FaceTime whatever video chat app you choose. It’s essential for the date night in. Yes, phone calls are an option but there is something about seeing that special someone in person that hits different.

Watching a movie together

Getting dressed up and having drinks and dinner over video chat

Playing a video game online together (animal crossing anyone?)

Planning out your dream vacation

Have a dance party (adding glow-sticks makes it even better)

Sip and Paint - Look up a youtube tutorial and paint from home while you are on video chat

Game night - Play a card game

Visit a museum virtually and talk about your favorite pieces.

For Those Who Live Together

Cook a Meal together, even better if its just throwing something together with what you have on hand.

Go for a walk together around your neighborhood to get some Sun. (extra points for a bike ride or even a scooter)

Find a new hobby together (you have the time)

Take an online class together to learn a new skill

Listen to your favorite CD from high school together and talk about what you loved about it.

Beer and Wine tasting at home(extra points if you make a charcuterie board together)

Read a book together and have your own mini bookclub

Spa Night ( facials, massages etc)

Just remember, this too shall pass and soon we will be able to be out and about again filling the streets and business with laughter and love. Until that time, be safe, stay home and have fun getting to know one another.
