Favorite Plus size Swimwear for 2018
Back in the day, I use to hate shopping for swimsuits as a plus size person. I was so afraid of my stomach sticking out or a suit that never fit the top and bottom of my body. That was until 2012 and I saw the blogger Gabi Fresh talk about her "fatkini'. When I saw how AMAZING she looked and the confidence she had I was like, "Why don't I feel the same way about myself?" It was then that I realized that just as she encouraged me by being her true self, I could do the same for someone else.
That year I decided I wasn't going to hide behind an oversized shirt and pair of shorts. I was going to rock my bathing suit with pride. I still had the struggle to find swimsuits that not only flattered my body shape but also didn't look matronly. I didn't want all ruffles and the prints were always black, beige or small polka dots.

Nowadays there are designers who are truly designing amazing suits for plus size women and we can look cute AND have functionality. I also love that many companies sell bikinis that you can choose two different sizes in.
In 2013 Gabi debuted her swim line for swimsuits for all and I am a customer for life. Each year she designs silhouettes and prints that make me want to buy the entire collection. I think it's because she has done this that other companies see the market and have stepped up their game and are giving me LIFE with their collections.
Below are some of my favorites for this year:
First up Gabi Fresh Swimline for Swimsuits for all. This year she brought out the bold colors. I purchased the neon orange two-piece and I can't wait to rock that on the beaches in Florida this year.
Eloquii is my GO TO place when I want to get some bold prints in clothing. They have carried this over into their swimsuit collection as well. Colorblock, two patterns, and bold colors will keep you turning heads on the beach this summer.
back in the day Forever 21 was NOT catering to the plus size person. I am so happy to see that they have stepped up their game and giving us some great options for swimsuits at an amazing price.
