Legoland Florida- Beach Retreat review
Living in the sunshine state there are PLENTY of things to do. Sometimes they have amazing Groupon as well that you can check out amazing deals and try something you have never done before. This was the case when we decided to take the kids to Legoland Beach retreat. My husband has been working a lot and we just wanted a night away. We decided to go in the middle of the week so it wouldn't be so crowded. The cool thing about this hotel is that there individual bungalows.
The inside there is a king size bed, tv, dresser, bathroom and a bunk bed for kids(as well s a trundle bed on the bottom bunk) there is a curtain that divides the kids' room from the main room so parents have a little privacy.
Outside in front of each bungalow is a kid pay area, since you have a sitting area in front of your room it makes it nice for you to just sit outside and the kids can play. Or you can join them.
When you check in, it's also a drive up to check in so there is no need to get out of the car. Once we checked in we went right to our room and changed so we could go to the pool. I don't have any pics but it was a heated pool and they have floating legos in there so kids and adults can build. They also have a nice sand area so you can play volleyball or soccer. I also like that there were plenty of chairs as well as umbrellas to keep you out of the sun.
The pool also has a little area for smores that the resort does every night at 7:30. Our Groupon included dinning. Dinner was delicious and there is a giant "sand castle" that is made out of legos so children can go play in this area while their food is being prepared. Breakfast is included as well and that is buffet style.
There is also a little bar that the adults can enjoy a libation or two. I decided to try one of their specialty drinks. It was called fish in a bag. It was Malibu Rum, Orange flavored vodka, sprite with an orange slice and mint leaves. Very yummy.
I also loved that they had giant connect four right in front of the restaurant as well as cornhole. The kids loved playing. They also had a dance party at 8pm as well as a lighthouse ceremony that all the kids enjoyed as well. Overall we all had a blast and will be returning again. We didn't even go to the Legoland park we just enjoyed ourselves at the resort and the kids had a blast.
This hotel is cheaper than the main Legoland hotel, they have a shuttle that will take you right to the park entrance. You do have to pay for parking here but that also is your parking at the park if you choose to drive(Its less than a mile up the road) This is a perfect spot for a quick getaway with the family or a nice mini vacation to visit Legoland Florida. I for one am so glad that we check out Groupon or we would have missed a great opportunity.
