Basic Baddie : Four Ways To Style A Leather Jacket

Welcome to a new series on my blog. I will be showing you how to rock some of the MUST have basics. When you are done reading you will become a basic baddie.  When it comes to fashion there are certain timeless pieces that you should have in your arsenal. A leather jacket is a MUST in any closet. (Or in the case of myself a faux leather jacket because of 1) I am frugal about some things and 2)I like to eat steak every now and then but not wear it lol) A leather jacket is a piece that you can incorporate with many looks to keep them looking fresh. It can take an evening look and dress it down for a date night, it can make a basic t-shirt and jeans pop, and It can also take a fun flirty skit and give it some edge.

I am going to show you four ways you can style a leather jacket

Mix Evening With Daytime

I love sequin anything! But I also like dressing down every now and then. You don't have to give up your sequence during the day. Fashion is an outward expression of YOUR personality. I love pairing a bold evening skirt with a t-shirt, chucks and leather jacket. This is a great look for a date night, a brunch with the girls even a night out on the town.

Spruce Up A Jumpsuit

Just because it is cold outside doesn't mean you need to get rid of that summer jumpsuit. Adding a jacket can change the look and allow you to rock your jumpsuit through autumn and winter months.

Leather With A Side Of Mix Prints

Leather jackets work great with flirty skirts. When mixing prints, a jacket also gives it that EXTRA punch and you will be sure to turn heads when you walk in a room.

You Can Never Go Wrong With Plaid

Growing up in teh 90's I had to pay homage to a look that I feel is synonymous with a leather jacket. Black distressed jeans, a plaid button down, t-shirt and leather jacket. This look makes you looked put together and ready to face the day. Throw on a red lip and NO ONE can touch you.

Below I will share a few faux leather jackets that you can rock with your own outfits.

What are some of your favorite ways to rock a leather jacket? Let me know in the comments.
